@chsimville, this greaves me, brother. More than ever, we need leaders in the OPC to stand up, write, and speak out against the serious errors of “biblical patriarchy.” There is something very wrong when “anons” identifying as Reformed are marking the OPC as a whole as apostate… https://twitter.com/chismville/status/1338260310248087554
…it’s particularly disturbing that she does so while quoting an OPC ruling elder, with no public rebuke from this elder or anyone else in her camp. She very wrongly accuses faithful women of hating the Word of God with nothing of substance to back up such a serious claim.
“Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter! Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes, and shrewd in their own sight!” —Isaiah 5:20, 21
Indeed, what a twisted mindset one must have to be so bold, ungracious, and quick to judge our denomination generally, and these sisters specifically, to be outside the faith. What poison! She makes her accusation so off-the-cuff that she fails to use possessive apostrophes!
This brother makes a valid point. Their ilk would criticize Machen himself if he were alive today. https://twitter.com/kirkcicero/status/1337866663006412801
As I see it, they are not long for the OPC. This is coming to a head. They will not be able to coexist with those of us that they ridiculously label “leftists” and “feminists.” The CREC or Evangel Presbytery is where they would be able to have fellowship with others of like mind.
I don’t desire further splintering of our little church. But I do yearn for the peace and purity of the church. What part do they have with us if they truly believe we are apostate? An absurdity! But how do we carry on like this otherwise? Sadly, we are beyond civil discourse.
@chismville (I somehow misspelled your username in my first post!)
Ok, I also misspelled “grieves” so I guess that’s what I get for criticizing her bad punctuation.
