I had no idea when I tweeted this story about my uncle’s funeral that my old man would be dead a few months later. He joked about his death a lot towards the end, but I didn’t really pay attention to him much because my pops was invincible. https://twitter.com/dyllyp/status/1237403553628450818
Until he wasn’t. He beat everything life threw at him. Extreme poverty, war, his father’s murder, his youngest son’s murder, diabetes, you name it.

He couldn’t beat COVID.
The most charismatic and outspoken man I’ve ever met died quietly and alone.

I wasn’t able to see him one last time. I couldn’t talk to him, hug him, hold his hand, nothing.

Knowing that the families of 300K other Americans know exactly how I feel makes his death even sadder.
Anyway, I ain’t mean to be a Debbie Downer lol.

Everyone have a decent Sunday? How we doing?
