Alright folks, its the holidays. It is a hell year. You're tired, and you want to buy something nice for yourself or someone you love. Might I recommend something from one of the many amazing Washington distilleries? Time for a thread, twitter!
If you want bourbon, my absolutely favorite in the area comes from 2Bar. They don't have a huge lineup of products, but what they do they do incredibly well. Absolutely top notch. https://www.2barspirits.com/
Next up is in the same general area: Letterpress Distilling ( @lp_distilling) their Lemoncello is best in class, and their amaro is incredible. When the pandemic is over, go visit them. But for now, order it online and enjoy your evening. https://store.letterpressdistilling.com/s/shop
Copperworks Distilling ( @CopperworksDist) does a lot of stuff really well, but the cask finished gins are super unique and super delicious. I can't think of anyone else with such a diverse range of gins. Also a super neat spot to visit post-pandemic. https://copperworksdistilling.com/
If you want something sweeter, the incredible Whidbey Island Distillery ships their liqueurs to WA residents now! Their distillation process involves a live-updating excel spreadsheet, so you know I adore them. This is the "pour me on ice cream" booze https://www.whidbeydistillery.com/
Can't talked about WA booze without mentioning Heritage Distilling ( @HeritageDistill), who will ship all over. BSB is a built-for-cocktails wonder and it is even on sale right now. Heritage has a huge product line, and nothing I've had from them is bad. https://heritagedistilling.com/
Blue Spirits Distilling has a swank tasting room out in Leavenworth now, but in the mean time you can order it online. They do a lot of stuff that makes for great mixers, or grab their rye or bourbon if you want something good on the rocks. https://www.bluespiritsdistilling.com/
Another very focused distillery is JP Trodden. Three bourbons, a rye, and some maple syrup. I'd stick to the black label if you're worried about cost:quality ratios, but their stuff is excellent. Grab the maple syrup while you're at it, is great. https://www.jptrodden.com/
Last but most definitely not least is the incredible Four Leaf Spirits. Incredible tea infused liqueurs and my favorite rum. If I had to pick a favorite, it'd be Four Leaf. If you really want to spoil yourself, join the Rum Club! It's awesome! http://www.fourleafspirits.com/
Anyway, there are a ton more great distilleries in Washington. These ship. Some still don't. Give money to small businesses when you can - all of these folks make incredible stuff. Washington is a vibrant hub of craft distilling and the enthusiasm of all these folks is infectious
The past couple of years have seen some of my favorite distilleries close their doors. I cannot afford to keep these places afloat myself, but hopefully by sharing with you then we can keep talented distillers doing what they do best: making incredible spirits for the rest of us.
Also I wasn't going to plug them again because I just did like a couple weeks ago but relative newcomer Fast Penny Spirits makes two different amaros and they're both delicious get them. https://www.fastpennyspirits.com/
