I feel the same with Arteta as I did with Wenger in his final years. Desperately want them to succeed but it has a reached a point where a turnaround in nearly impossible. They have too much trust in certain players and it proved to be their downfall.

The thing is, where do we go now? On one hand it will be difficult for us to find a replacement to Arteta at this point in the season and that is a decision that we HAVE to get right but on the other hand, where is the bottom. I rather keep Arteta than get an interim.

Then there is the question of what sort of structure will we have above a first team coach? Will we go back to director of football or hire an Ancelloti type man? I don't trust us to get this right.That is my problem with sacking Arteta, I don't see an appointment that excites me

Football for me is rapidly developing contradicting feeling in me towards players and managers. While I have strong feelings for players like Auba, bellerin, Ozil (in the past), I am also starting to understand that to succeed you need to sell you best players to reinvest.

It leaves a sour taste because the reason I feel in love with football was because of players like Cesc, Van Persie and especially Wenger but now I find myself restricting developing any feelings for players and managers because they have to be viewed as assets.

Unfortunately I really connected with Arteta and now I am finding a hard time letting go, even though rationally I know this reign is coming to an end.

I guess in that sense I am a child of Wenger. I always want to believe in people.
