Surprisingly I've seen a few people prioritize themselves as anarchists over continuing to support the Kinney family thru their negotiations with city and police. They seem to be arguing that as anarchists they cant support negotiations within a system they don't believe in (1/7)
I guess this is where a difference in the definition of "anarchism" becomes apparent. Because anarchism is not about fundamentally opposing state/law/structure at all costs, it's about autonomy, community aid, and support. (2/7)
This means that under anarchism, everyone is free to operate within whatever means they feel comfortable (diversity of tactics, anyone?), and still having support from their communities. That includes supporting the Kinney family through negotiations, (3/7)
even if it's a method you would never personally choose. There is a lot of nuance in regards to BIPOC being more respectable to the state when they're compliant (**racism**), and we need to not criticize a Black family for using compliance to the state to keep their home. (4/7)
I really resent the notion that "people are choosing ACAB over BLM" because they are and always will be inexplicably linked. There is no one without the other on a fundamental level. But I can't help but feel like those saying they're choosing to not support (5/7)
the Kinney family through negotiation are just forgetting about the "community support" and "mutual aid" aspects of anarchism that are crucial to its success.

Diversity of tactics is cool and all, and there are other people who need support, (6/7)
but when we pick and choose those we offer aid to based on who closest aligns with our ideals, we maintain many of the same structures we seek to abolish in the first place. (7/7)
