We lived through half a year of hard corona lockdown in Melbourne, Australia, earlier this year. Now that my native Germany is going into lockdown here are a few things that helped me. What worked for me might not apply to you of course.
Call somebody (mum, dad, your kids, siblings, friends or even colleagues) every day. I made a conscious effort to be active in the WhatsApp groups that I have with my friends too.
Leave the house every day. Rain, hail, snow, the freezing cold. Doesn’t matter. Go for a walk with your kids, partner or with a good audiobook. Walk in new areas as much as you can. After a few months we were so sick of our standard park and streets.
Go to bed at a decent time. Get up in the morning at a fixed time. A stable routine is your friend.
Since I had lots of work projects and this Twitter account to keep me busy I never got bored. Make sure to tackle some longer term project that you never got around to. Clean out the garage, finish the photo album from 2004, rearrange the furniture.
Most importantly, trust that all this is temporary and will pass.
