Sir,

It has come to my attention that the @JoeBiden is considering you for a position at the Dept. of education.

Congrats.

Perhaps this is why you have scrubbed and protected your Twitter account, and paused your website.

A few thoughts...
For a guy who has talked a lot about democracy and community control of school policy, it's odd that you would avoid contact with the same public you want to represent in @JoeBiden's administration. Shouldn't you be vetted by the public rather than installed behind closed doors?
Further, this seems to be a trend with you. Stealth, anti-democratic, and nasty political maneuvering rather than actual grassroots action. For instance, the way you and Roxana Marachi spirited the charter school moratorium through the California NAACP was masterful.

But....
the way you, Alice Huffman, and the other org bosses harassed and defamed members of NAACP grassroots chapters that bucked your moratorium deserves some sunshine. You should have to answer for it. Especially now that Huffman has been completely exposed for collecting dark money.
It's amazing how fast you fled California when it looked like your career ambitions might be sullied by grift. Which, is another trend. Why the jumps from Michigan to Texas to California to KY There's a story there. I hope we get to hear it soon. Kids aren't stepping stones.
Listen, I don't begrudge anyone upward mobility, even when I disagree with their politics. We need faithful servants. But, @joebiden has promised to be a president for all Americans, and you can't honestly be considered someone capable of fulfilling that.
Be real. You have a record of dividing parents, students, and educators into two categories: those who deserve to be heard and those who you want to be silenced. Frankly, you've savagely attacked Black advocates who disagree with you on ed policies in a way that's disqualifying.
And, you have made clear that families who want their kids to benefit from the same private school education you benefitted from are to be hushed if they can't afford what your family could. Elitism much?

That's not a good start for a national leader in education.
The bottom line @professorJVH is you have a remarkable resumé. Private schooling, great internships, privileged positions, quick ascension, and a body of one-sided research that feeds the ideology of your supporters. But, Americans are far more diverse than you can represent.
In truth, millions of educators wake up each day and teach in schools you despise. The students and parents in those schools deserve representation just like everyone else. There is no conceivable way for you to be a leader of ALL families. Bottom-line: you're not a good choice.
