inspired by the arsenal match, and also obviously united’s terrible home performances. Not a full season, and could do more sophisticated statistical analyses, but this is clearly worthy of further investigation...

It might be that it is more of the removal of a disadvantage for the away team... but if this pattern holds, will affect who wins the league, and will mean the Covid tier differentials could also have an impact....
Well - Away teams have won 10% more points so far this season than Home teams... Home: 153 points vs Away 173 points... also not normal.

Haven’t had time to quite work out what the normal home points premium is... but strikes me that United’s freakishly good away and terrible home performances alone responsible for a chunk of the trend...
