A tread on why Zero from Mega man X/Zero is the character that has gone through the most pain

It all begins with his creation. He was created by the villain of the last series, Dr. Wily. And because of this he started as a malicious Maverick that would kill anything in sight

So in comes Sigma, the leader of the Maverick hunters, a group of robot police that will kill any robots (known as reploids) if they show any sign of rebellion. Sigma has a fight with Zero leading to him losing and getting "the maverick virus" transferred to him.

Now Zero takes Sigma's role as the Maverick hunter leader after he lost all signs of malice because of the fight with Sigma (who is now a dangerous Maverick). He makes friends with a reploid. But not just any reploid, it was Mega man X, the first ever reploid.

But now in Mega man X5, Sigma has created a new virus that can turn Zero into a Maverick again (now this game has an ending system where it depends on RNG so we'll use the ending where Zero has become a Maverick) and now X has to fight him leading to his death.

In X6, he is revived and goes to sleep for 100 years to segway us to the Zero games.

In the first game, he finds out X is now a ghost figure that can only guide Zero like a mentor figure. And in the second game, the leader of the resistance he works for known as Elpizo is possessed by evil Baby elves (sounds weird I know) and had to be killed by Zero

In Zero 3, he finds out his original body is actually the property of the game's villain Omega and had to destroy it. But that wasn't the only casualty, his friend of 11 games X dies after all of his energy was spent and Hope's Zero can save the day.

And finally in Zero 4, he goes to kill the games villain of 4 and 3, Dr. Weil. And sacrifices himself to finally save the world from the apocalypse that Dr. Weil planned. And with his death, he finally created the world where humans and reploids could live as equals

So in conclusion, Zero had gone through a lot of pain. And I know what you're thinking. "But he at least made a happy ending for humans and reploids." But the saddest part is that he died right before he and X could have seen any of it
