The key things to watch here: was data exfiltrated? Was malware placed on the systems? A lockdown on Treasury systems could create chaos in the financial system, although the systems are likely not interconnected. Still, all the nation’s top cyber officials being ousted not good.

Update: Commerce was also affected; officials seem to think this hack affected multiple agencies. Reminder—it was backed by a foreign state actor.
