But the only "outrage" I've heard is from those who would rather not have the discussion at all. Those who would rather scream about "SJWs" and "cancel culture" than have a conversation that might make them feel uncomfortable.

Holtby should be commended for listening, and making a choice he felt was more inclusive. We should expect this from public figures.

One additional note:
Just because some indigenous folks were not offended from the mask does not mean that no one has the right to speak against it.
Indigenous people are not a monoculture. Quit holding up only those that agree with you as the true representatives of the whole.
