Is it just me or has anyone else noticed a distinct lack of ‘plus size’ academic women?

I think it’s related to class bias and white wellness culture but keen to hear other takes.
Just saying that when colleagues get excited about fashion, the clothes are never available in my size.

When I get invited to social things, it almost always involves exercise and salad.

And the “advice”. Do not get me started on people trying to show they “care” about me.
When I broke my ankle a few years ago, a woman colleague asked me if I was gonna go on a diet.

Women colleagues often ask if I’ve lost weight - and congratulate before I can say no.

Women tell me they’re “okay” with my meat-eating but veganism is “great to keep weight off”.
For women who know what any of this feels like - as well as all the folks who judge us - I can highly recommend THE BODY IS NOT AN APOLOGY book, website and Instagram feed ❤️✊
