okay so biden has criticised the “Defund the police” movement for tarnishing the reputation of the democrats. Here are my thoughts on it:

set of americans. However, I sort of think he is correct. He isn’t saying that the movement is bad, he even promises a fundamental change in policing (whether you believe that or not is up to you), he’s just saying that “Defund the police” will be used as a buzz-phrase to combat
any attempts to change the police force. The problem with the phrase is that it requires you to research it in order to understand the good that it will bring. There is virtually no chance that devout trump supporters will do this research themselves, and they certainly won’t
listen to democrats trying to explain it. With no context, the phrase seems to mean ‘remove all policing authority’ which will never garner much respect anywhere, least of all america. as much as i agree with the movement, “defund the police” is a counter productive phrase
