Thread on CPI(M)'s findings; both side-ism:

1) The Indian Left, self claimed seculars, et al will have to remain grossly Islamophobic, even if they decide not to be. One may argue their Islamophobia is premised upon their collective hatred of Islam, which might be true or not
2) but more because they'd lose all their legitimacy in the majority of majority community the day they start speaking the truth. The good ones in majority community are only good enough to condemn their wrong doing when they've a parallel example from Muslims to condemn
3) A fine example is CPI(M)'s condemnation of both RSS and Jamat e Islami Hind, PFI & SDPI. Once you start pointing out errors in the majority community without ifs & buts, you'd lose your legitimacy. You become evil.
4) The good ones in majority community believes it is pure and it's evil things are born out of influence from others. It's polluted by Muslims, bade ka gosht, Azaan ki awaaz etc. But that's not even the point I am trying to establish.
5) I am saying the majority of majority community is so much anti Muslim that it will never accept their fault unless there's Muslims in bad light drawn to the equation. In that sense, I argue that India's social community is much, much worse than the political community
6) The political community's Islamophobia can be called out, challenged and even corrected if worked upon. The en mass hatred towards Muslims in majority community is invisible & normalised. Congress may want to lure Muslims by projecting Salman Khursheed or Gulam Nabi Azad
7) but wouldn't because Hindus won't accept it. The same happens with every other party. They can't afford to be viewed with Muslims else their own voters will disown them. CPI(M) is not outside that social construct of Hindu society.
8) Even if it's better than Congress in the sense that it can afford to condemn RSS, it cannot afford to do so without condemning Muslims. Anti RSS people in majority community aren't by default truly seculars. They may still be Islamophobic. That is CPI(M) core constituency.
