To be clear, I am not at breaking point. I am past it. I have been out of school for the last 3 weeks, unable to cope with the weight of my job.
Also 2b clear, I got great support* from @Education_Ire @HSELive during our #COVID19Ireland outbreak.

*Support being the key word here.
The heavy weight was on me. They supported me but left me to lead.
That is unacceptable.
Unacceptable that I was coming up with action points for them to rubber stamp. (Action points such as wider testing, screening & closing classes.)

Leaving it to DES/HSE results in an inadequate response. So, as I prepare to return to school, I am faced with a very difficult decision - do I choose my health (along with that of school leadership team & our families) or leading a better response?!

I am 16 yrs in school leadership. I mentor newly-appointed principals. I sat on the board of a school patron. I nurtured a school from scratch up to 19 classrooms. I've worked in every possible school setting.
I am experienced & competent. Covid broke me.
