Today is the third Sunday in Advent -- Gaudete Sunday -- the day we light a candle for Joy.

Just learned that in Latin, "gaudete" is an imperative. So, my work today, and for the coming weeks, is to live into this command and rejoice.

Positive thinking is important, but Christian faith is more than that.

So now we find ourselves in Advent when we look to the future ... to the realm of the possible.

What would the world be like is we actually did better? If we actually lived into how were taught by scripture?
