My grandma, a badass MD/PhD, was one of the first female profs at Canada’s @uofg. Yet, when she tried to open a bank account, she was told she needed her husband present.

Grandpa only went to tell them off and demand they change their policy.
He had a strong sense of social justice. Also a prof, he insisted on doing all the cooking around the house. Grandma much preferred doing experiments at the lab to being in the kitchen.

Societies only change, I think, if the people within them recognize what’s wrong and make a conscious effort to fix it.
Women deserve more professional respect, full stop. Let’s make that happen.
