Peel Police Chief @ChiefNish:
DO YOU CARE MORE ABOUT PROPERTY THAN HUMAN LIVES?

This week, Peel police released a galling statement about a press conference the families & MPM hosted at 11 Division.

RETWEET THREAD!
On January 7, Jamal Francique was shot in the back of his head while alone in his car after being ambushed by 8 Peel police officers from 11 Division.
On Mother’s Day, Chantelle Krupka & Michael Headley were both tased by @Officer_Ty in front of their home. Chantelle was then shot by Valerie Briffa in the abdomen as she lay on the ground. Then Peel police raided their home a few weeks later to lay false charges against them.
D’Andre Campbell was gunned down in front of his siblings while experiencing a mental health crisis on April 6.
Ejaz Choudry was shot to death in his apartment while experiencing a mental health crisis on Fathers’ Day. His family was forced to see the bullet holes in their apartment for months until members of MPM helped patch them up.
Jamal’s family still has no answers. Chantelle still hasn’t recovered from her injuries, and both her and Mike are still fighting against their false charges.

It’s been radio silence from the police murderers, their accomplices and their employers.
That’s why on December 11, we gave both families the opportunity to express their pain, loss, sadness, and anger — at the place where Jamal’s killers and Chantelle and Mike’s attackers still work. https://twitter.com/maltonmovement/status/1337611973253586944
Less than 24 hours later, on a Saturday morning no less, Peel Regional Police and Chief Durraippah released a statement that clearly shows they will honour and defend property — literal inanimate objects — over human life.
What Peel Police think is an “act of violence” vs. What the rest of humanity thinks is an act of violence.
Media: you need to be covering this (and not just regurgitating police propaganda statements while not sharing context or doing interviews with families). @CBCToronto @globalnewsto @TorontoStar @blogTO @globeandmail @CityNews @CBCNews

We will be releasing an official statement soon.
