This thread is not questioning the inevitability of releasing films to streaming during a pandemic. It’s about the American audience being transformed into consumers, and treating art & entertainment as stuff that comes out of a feeding tube & plops directly into their mouths.
If you reflexively side with corporations over artists, I don’t wanna have anything to do with you.
Also repulsive: the phony populism of people who think they are striking a great blow for democracy by destroying theaters and reducing the wages of people who make the entertainment they consume.
