[THREAD] This video was taken on September 14. the day I found out I had HIV. October 14 was the start of my HIV medication starting with my viral load in the thousands (how much HIV was in my system).
The second video was taken on December 7, the day I found out that my viral load was 40, basically the virus is undetectable in my system. I cannot transmit to anyone or to my future child.
A lot of people asked me what symptoms I got and what made me get tested. I usually test frequently however the person who gave it to me was either unaware they had it or did it on purpose.
I also fell ill very often and always felt tired but it varies - just like COVID some people can be asymptomatic. Long story short - it was early detection. Early detection can rule out: future transmissions and AIDS. Dont’t lose hope, it only took me 54 days to get my life back.
So I encourage you to get tested the sooner the better. PS I’m still trying to educate myself as to how Filipinos can get access to treatment and other form of information needed especially during the pandemic.
Because I am coming from a place of privilege as we have free healthcare here in the UK which I am grateful for. But for those living in the UK - I encourage you to get tested also.
This does not strictly apply to homosexuals, which is how the stigma started. This applies to anyone and everyone. HIV is not exclusively for us - it’s for everyone - just like COVD! 🫀
