1/Just over a month ago I had no website and had published no articles or videos.

Now I have a website, have published articles, videos, and weird summary docs - all while working as an NQ commercial lawyer.

A thread on what I've learned:
2/Planning and design

You have to sketch out your plans somewhere.

@NotionHQ has been great for me to plonk all my ideas, draft my articles, monitor progress, and schedule.

I also do quite wild brainstorms in @GoodNotesApp on my iPad when I need to "feel" the notes
3/Execute consistently - and together

@imtinet and I made a pact to upload one video per week each. And we talk more than ever during the weeks about the creative process.

It is infinitely more do-able and fun to be in good company on a journey.
4/Learn from those around you

I haven't been able to attend @AliAbdaal's PTYA, but it's been so helpful to peak in at the work/journeys of those in the game.

Thanks @CharlotCrowther; @visakanv; @RobbieCrab; @yathprem; @m_ashcroft; @JustBhavs for doing interesting things.
5/Introductions

These have to snap. (Work in progress for me.)

Have a strong suspicion you've only got about ten-fifteen seconds to keep people engaged.

Thoughts on this one with the writing? Enough snap? Or not enough snap?
6/Recording and editing

Editing takes forever and I wish I could time-travel to the end of the process.

I did realise, however, that I often re-recorded lines which were not quite on script but were fine.

Perfectionism is not helpful.

(Not the below though!)
7/Tech

You can do this without being a tech person, as long as you are committed.

I am not a tech person, but I have probably spent 100 hours at least on figuring stuff out.

Don't give up.
9/Tell stories

Some of my feedback has included: "I really liked the anecdotes about [X] and [Y]."

Even though our content is not entirely similar, I'm always trying to dissect @ColinandSamir's videos for how they tell their stories so well.
10/Time

I think we have more time than we think, and less self-discipline than we ought.

If it is the case that you enjoy or want something, you will allocate time appropriately.
