At Wigan’s ground yesterday I question what I was doing. Why was I spending my weekend in a soulless depressing stadium.

The result was depressing but I’m talking about before the match.

Diving past pubs boarded up and others shut up tight, shops shut all the way to the...
...ground, sitting on the bus wasting away life because the administrators at the clubs are not prepared to even put on or bring in a few butties.

Then we are welcomed into this club laid to waste by awful regulation and financial distribution in football that has seen many...
...clubs in the same situation.

We walk into a big room, with a few chairs spaced out in a line stretching from window pitch-side to the outside, we’re greeted by two ladies who were keen to do what they could.

But there we were, stood in an empty expanse of a room looking...
...out at an empty expanse of a stadium.

There was a few bottles of wine behind the bar so I asked one of the staff if we could have a glass.

They checked with someone and came back with a bottle, which was warmly welcome in an awful depressing empty room.

We thank them and..
...I tweeted a picture of this. The staff were really friendly and welcoming.

At half time I was contacted by a member of staff asking me to remove the tweeted image because the Administrators were not happy. The staff would be in trouble I was told.

Apparently the...
...administrators have let the alcohol licence lapse.

But I was happy to oblige and immediately removed my tweets as requested.

I would not want any staff getting into trouble as a result of anything I’d done.

It was an innocent mistake and if I thought for one minute it ...
...would get staff into trouble, I would have refused the wine.

That was that, or so I thought.

We went on to get beat by a good @LaticsOfficial side, came back into the depressingly empty room to be met with stewards ushering us straight out of the place.
These stewards, more than likely acting on orders from the administrator put the tin hat on a thoroughly shite afternoon.

I have a low opinion of administrators in the first place and this shower did not disappoint.

As I said earlier a great club in another smashing northern..
..town damaged by the total lack of common sense in regulations.

If one owner messes up there’s a problem with the owner, if many do there’s a STRUCTURAL problem with game governance.

Lastly, it seems that Wigan are nearly sorted with another owner.

I sincerely hope...
...the new owners realise they hold not only the well being of a football club in their hands, but the well being of a town and its people.

Get the priests in to rid the club of these administrators and rebuild a great club. 👍
Good afternoon BTW.
