OK, here’s another THREAD on mistakes to avoid when you think you are speaking in Italian 🇮🇹

- There is no X in Espresso
- Don’t say bruscetta (broo-sheh-ta)! It’s bruschetta: broos-keh-t-tah. Ch in Italian = K like kettle in English [Tommaso Buscetta is a different topic]

1/
- If you got the previous one, try pistacchio (*not* pis-ta-shou), or Pinocchio
- Giuseppe is a common name. GIU–sep–pe. Pron: ʤu'sɛppe (*not* GUI-seppe, or GiuseppI)
- Bravo is *only* male, singular (and not bra-voU). To an orchestra you say BRAVI. Or feminine BRAVA/BRAVE

2/
- Panini: it’s *only* plural. Unless you’re very hungry, you’d typically ask for 'un panino'
- Prosciutto (note the spelling: not proscuito/proscuitto)
- Gnocchi (plural). I admit this can be tough. Sounds like nyohk-kee
- No problemo?? Por favor?? You are in the wrong country
3/
- Confusion between beautiful & good. Bello (/a/e/i) is about a view, a person, a dress. But not for food, that’s when you use buono/a/e/i
- Too painful to comment on disgraces such as pizza margarita, foccacia, osso bucco, ciabbata, arrabiata, pepperoni, linguini/fettuccini
4/
- You got it, we have many double consonants. But *not* Tomasso. Please…

End/Ciao!
