An Essay about something Irrelevant: Part 1
Games are a pretty important thing to me, and that goes for pretty much for all gamers, but one thing that bugs me is the useless hate towards certain games, like Fortnite, some of the Sonic games, etc...
Games are a pretty important thing to me, and that goes for pretty much for all gamers, but one thing that bugs me is the useless hate towards certain games, like Fortnite, some of the Sonic games, etc...
Let’s go back to when Fortnite was cool, I guess, what happened, why is it widely hated among gamers? I really have no answer to this question. This pretty much goes for all the other games too. Many other games go down the drain just like this...
But the thing that puzzles me, is the hate towards Fortnite, is it because of the art style, is it because the player base is mainly kids, why do people hate Fortnite?
Firstly, the art style, I thought many people hated it because it looked childish and simple, but many people enjoy cartoonish and colorful art styles in games, take for example, Animal Crossing, it’s design and graphics are simple and colorful, and yet many people love it...
Another example that could be applied is Fall Guys, Fall Guy’s art style fits the cartoonish and simple thing that people like, and like Fortnite, it’s launch was highly successful and has a steady player base, but why do Gamers hate Fortnite?
Maybe people hate it because the player base is mainly kids, this could honestly go both ways. Firstly, the excuse that it’s a child’s game and it’s not cool, Take a look at most popular games, Minecraft, Pokémon, Smash Bros, most of these games are targeted towards kids...
And yet, many older people find themselves playing these games, and enjoying them. Secondly, the main reason kids play is because it’s marketed towards kids. It really doesn’t make any sense, the unnecessary hate towards Fortnite isn’t based at all...
To end on, there really is no reason to hate it, sure you don’t have to like it or play it, but hating on the game and the people that play it is just not okay. Just imagine you playing a game you enjoy and love, then a group of people started to call you names and just bulling..
You just because you enjoy and play the game. Every one is entitled to their opinion, but when that opinion is harmful and destructive, it really shouldn’t be shared and thrown around.
TL;DR - Don’t shit on games if there really isn’t a reason to.
