The football team from Bannu (KPK, Pakistan) got nearly killed at calcutta about 110 year ago!

The team toured India in summers of 1905 played football matches against various clubs/schools. In Calcatta. They fell victim to the unrest. Caused by the viceroy's decision to divide bangal into two states. A rumour was doing round at that time that a number of punjabis 1/n

And afghans have come down from north to kidnap bengali children. A mob of hundreds of locals attacked some of the team members when they having breakfast at one of the Bazar in calcutta . They were beaten with stick an stones until they were senseless.

Then mob left five of them to bleed to death but they were rescued and were taken to hospital. They all fully recovered later.
