At the local Men's Shed, I watched a slightly-older-than-god retired machinist school a younger member about transphobi remarks:
"And if it was ya best mate who changed, would you give up on him? I wouldn't."
"How do you know for sure, though, Tom?"

Look, it's not perfect, but it tells me our editors are decades behind Tom, the ancient machinist.
And still we have editors who imagine themselves Proper Prog, running transphobia.
I can't get close to the right words, but because I was surprised, I quizzed him privately, and his *attitude* (not verbatim) was, "If it's good enough for a mate, it's got to be good enough for anyone who needs it, right? It's not difficult, Richard."
