Okay, so, let's dig into some of the reasons why Trump lost the election.

Let's compare the exit polls - surveys of people telling who they voted for AFTER they voted - from 2016 and 2020.

Let's do it for all of the five states that Biden flipped this year.

In 2020, Trump saw an 11 point decrease in his net margin with men compared to what it was in 2016. In 2016, Trump won men 53-40 (+13). In 2020, Trump won men 50-48 (+2).

Trump saw a 1 point GAIN with women. In 2016, Trump lost women 45-49 (-4). In 2020, Trump it was 48-51 (-3)
Comparing the two elections in Arizona, Trump lost a net 14 points with white men. And a net 1 point with white women.

Trump lost a net 8 points with whites overall.

Trump gained a net 6 points with latinos.
Trump lost a net 8 points with college grads in Arizona. And he lost a net 3 points with non-college grads.

He lost a net 19 points with liberals, lost a net 18 points with moderates and gained a net 7 points with conservatives.
Trump lost a net 11 points with Democrats in Arizona. In 2016 he lost them 7-89. In 2020, he lost them 3-96.

Trump lost a net 12 points with Independents. He won them 47-44 in 2016 and lost them 44-53 in 2020.
He had no net change with Republicans. He won them 88-7 in 2016 and won them 90-9 in 2020.
So, Trump didn’t win AZ by all that much in 2016. In 2020, he lost 11 points with men , 8 points with college grads, 3 points with non-grads and 12 points with Independents. He also picked a long one-way battle with a deceased John McCain.

Anybody really surprised that he lost?
