I hadn't realised when I wrote this, but the reporters are quite well known as science journalists. They're just extremely ideological and have been subverting media narratives about trans healthcare for 2 years now. https://twitter.com/Chican3ry/status/1337520713985617927
As Simon Whitten wrote yesterday they have frequently misrepresented facts by omitting key context and information, created and participated in news stories they then reported on for the BBC and used access to prestigious platforms and innuendo to... https://twitter.com/Simon_Whitten/status/1337869720293404682?s=19
...fabricate a health scandal out of thin air.

E.g. they sent in a complaint about research ethics to a regulator who must then investigate it, then reported (at arms length) that the health body is under investigation for ethics violations.
And then when the investigation found no foul play wrote it up as the researchers being in the clear for now but with concerns still remaining.

Just absolute batshit levels of dishonesty that should never have gotten past an editor.
They used one of the reporters position on the British Medical Journal editorial board to write an opinion piece for the BMJ and then reported on the piece themselves in the BBC, again at arms length, as "experts express concerns about...."

This is not normal!!!
Is there anyone at the US press who will deal with this? British journalism is so corrupted at this point noone is challenging it. I hear from journalists (or those who used to be able to get published before this wave of hate) it's not possible to get these stories picked up.
The UK press has a habit for this sort of stuff in the tabloid fringes - paedophile child murderer Ian Huntley was reported to have been transitioning, with the claims widely repeated for 2 years before it turned out they were entirely false.
There were 586 articles written in the British press between 2018/2019 about trans people and aggression, or 2 most days, the vast majority of which were found via linguistic analysis to suggest trans people were angry and threatening.

We are in a process of mass demonisation of a sexual minority with it being facilitated by globally trusted media brands and the current press response in the UK is doing little to nothing about presenting any skepticism about this trend whatsoever.
Trans people ourselves only have open media platforms like Twitter to raise the alarm on. Most people aren't on Twitter or anything like Twitter. We use platforms like this because we cannot get published on mainstream press.
It's so wild to me, does anyone remember when Johann Hari was done in the press and the court of public opinion for merely plagiarising other journalists as well as running a sock puppet?

Worse is happening all over the place now in UK journalism.
