In ancient India (Bharat), natural farming was practised. Now, what is natural farming? It is modern day 'organic farming'. When Bharat was a 'samriddh rashtra', bulls were given utmost importance.
They were not thrown on streets, like nowadays. This was so because they had an important role to play in farming. They were used to plough the land. Also, they were given massage and very proper diet. In this way, people avoided the pollution caused by modern tractors and also,
Bulls were spared the horror of being thrown out on streets. Not only the farming was eco-friendly, but also the bulls got the love and care of a family.
Coming to cows, their dung (Gobar) had more importance than their milk. The milk was considered as a by-product. Why?
Coming to cows, their dung (Gobar) had more importance than their milk. The milk was considered as a by-product. Why?
The dung played a crucial role in forming manure for the farms. The crops grown on such farms were free from all sorts of chemical treatment. No modern diseases were caused to humans of that time. As fertilizers were introduced in the agricultural system of India, we lost both
love for cows and good quality crops. This manual change in our farming system appeared very modern that time, but gradually, we realised the diseases that were caused because of the use of such chemical fertilizers. With time, we also realised the gross harm that was caused
to our fields and the soil. The biomagnification of DDT caused extinction of many bird species. The consumption of such fertilizer-aided crops caused disorders in many animals.
A LITTLE CHANGE IN OUR FARMING SYSTEM PLAYED HAVOC WITH SO MANY LIVES.
A LITTLE CHANGE IN OUR FARMING SYSTEM PLAYED HAVOC WITH SO MANY LIVES.
With years, the westerns realised these problems and introduced something called 'organic farming', where they used natural ingredients in agricultural system. India also started copying them (as usual), but guess who was the first civilisation to do something like
'organic farming'? BHARAT, of course! So, what does this tell us? We were best when we were ourselves. Our habit of copying others has not only ruined us, but also ruined our culture, civilization and heritage.
