The consistently anti-trans @BBC is doing everything in its power to make sure people are confused about the findings from this report. When I read this report, I'm not worried, I'm hopeful. Here are some thoughts on what these data say, that the BBC consistently gets wrong.

The most important conclusion: the screening protocol WORKED. If you've ever worked with kids, you know they change their minds a lot, and that's normal. But 98% of the kids in this study continued from GnRHa to HRT. Have you ever tried to get a kid to take meds they didn't want?
The bone density findings are also misleadingly stated by the @BBC. Bone growth happens in humans with the introduction of gonadal sex hormones. GnRHa blocks the natural secretion of those hormones. That's what it's *SUPPOSED* to do. Density increases again with the start of HRT.
CW: suicide, self-harm
Finally: the study uses the YSR for SI, but question 18 of the the YSR does NOT differentiate between self-injurious and suicidal behavior. It asks both questions simultaneously. We no longer see these as the same nor even always related. Use the C-SSRS.
