With two more fires reported today in encampments, there have been seven moderately to super suspicious fires in the last seven days in Toronto homeless camps.

Thread:

👇🏻
1. Last Saturday night between 9-10pm a foam dome was lit on fire at HTO Park (Queens Quay and Spadina). Right by fire station. Residents 100% sure it was started purposefully. No one in it at time or injuries. Police attended, took statements, lied to Sun to say did not.
2. On Monday before midnight someone lit a tiny house in Moss Park on fire beginning with tarps on outside/top of structure. Quarrel before loud bang bang. White guy, scruffy beard left scene. Police and fire attended. Police told Sun it remained under investigation.
3. On Tuesday evening, a second Moss Park fire was deliberately set in the same area. No cops or fire attended. Residents quickly put out on their own.
4. The Lamport Stadium (west side encampment) huge fire/explosions from Wednesday night remains at least moderately suspicious as @TPSOperations continues to refuse to be forthcoming with the video they showed residents the next morning. https://twitter.com/sunreporteryuen/status/1337167747235581953
5. I am seeking more info on a fire that a resident of Lamport said was set the next night on (east side of the stadium), but was quickly put out by residents without the aid of fire or police.
6. Cherry Beach Dec 11/12. A new person to the encampment had their tent torched last night when they were not in it. Had no beefs with anyone. No injuries. Getting more info tomorrow.
7. HTO park hit again. This morning. Guy who witnessed the first fire and then moved to hotel, but still had stuff at encampment had his tent torched when he was offsite.
Also a fire happened almost four weeks ago now at Holy Trinity's encampment. Deliberate, targeted, gender based attack by 2 men against 3 indigenous women.

All or almost all appear to be acts of arson.

@TPSOperations & @ChiefPeggTFS would rather use to further attack campers.
Two corrections/updates:

1. The 1st Lamport Stadium fire was Tuesday, not Wednesday of course (correct in the link to the Sun article in thread above - the fire started just before 5:30pm on Tuesday)
2. More info on the 2nd Lamport fire establishes that it was Friday a.m. and started during dispute between tent residents.
