i want to be clear to people in the #BBTG community specifically those who are non-BIPOC: sometimes the actions you make can be deemed prejudice or micro-aggressive whether intentional or not. it is important to be careful with the choosing of vernacular when speaking about
people of color especially in certain social groups. when you say things like “you people” or “all of you” it can be extremely insensitive and sometimes you just don’t realize how bad of a connotation that it has regardless of the meaning behind it. another issue is when we
are playing through these tier houses we feel like as people of color we have to tiptoe around certain individuals more carefully because we aren’t allowed to play a certain way or be too much of something. can’t be too social, physical, or strategic. sometimes we have to
purposely change our gameplay to adapt to situations (not saying that some people that are not of color don’t have to, but they are oftentimes rewarded for identical gameplays from their previous experiences we see it all the time on TV). we have to make sure we please everyone
because it is just simply harder for us especially when we are deemed untrustworthy from someone else’s word and excluded from social groups and alliances (and this still goes on within this app, a lot of people won’t cross communicate because they are afraid of being seen with
the “wrong side”). anyway the point of this message is to understand that this game wasn’t meant for us to win as much as u think. yes, right now we live in a climate where people of color are starting to get better college and job opportunities but on a SOCIAL level like this
game things are still remaining the same and unfortunately racism and prejudice beliefs will always be at the backhand of someone’s decisions. as an ally or advocate, think about the decisions u make in your next few games and try to weigh them on a more national scale.
