stated clearly we need a new #Arctic research icebreaker to promote scientific observation for the sustainable use of the Arctic Ocean. It is utter nonsense to regard this vessel as “an attempt to strengthen Japan’s presence in the Arctic sea lane” - which I am sure would (2/3)
please some nonsensical nationalistic readers but does more harm than good for scientific cooperation in the Arctic that demands peace and trust rather than provocation.
