Who is incredibly passionate about scouting. A looong time ago, as a Red Sox intern in Fort Myers, he’d spend days covering the GCL (affectionately known as the ‘Gulf Roast League’), then head out to watch the Sox’ HiA Sarasota affiliate at night.
Those long days not only offered Porter a great foundation but earned him incredible respect and trust with a wide cross-section of people in the game. That’s remained the case over the last 16 years.
