Cartoons aren't just for kids! They're also for chronically depressed adults who are being spoonfed watered down messages of faux-empowerment in a manner that doesn't challenge them at all animated very shoddily in blender by underpaid outsourced animators
it is fine to like cartoons I like a lot of em, including a number that fall into the above description, but maybe, just maybe, consider why the market has curved to match your interests and what they're wringing out of you in the process
Cartoons are as morally netutral as any other form of art and communication but their greatest strength-- infinite malleability & potentially cheap, small scale production-- lend them to be used for poisonous dreck with exceptional frequency.
Good animation is nearly peerless in it's beauty and imagination. It is also almost impossible to find in 2020 because the medium is dominated by cheap mass produced drivel, where the artists are overworked and not given any creative latitude
It is ok to like cartoons. It is ok to like bad cartoons, even. You dont have to explain yourself for liking a show or movie! But you also dont have to insist your consumptive habits are a moral good or some kind of blow for social progress- youre just buying what they're selling
why do people not expect a reply when you quote tweet them lol
