1️⃣ - What's the Cultural Revolution?
The Cultural Revolution was a sociopolitical movement in socialist China and also one of the components of maoism.
The goal of the Cultural Revolution is to destroy the reactionary and capitalist culture and create a proletarian culture.
2️⃣ - Why it's important.
The culture of a society reflects the class interests of whatever class is ruling it. That's why when the proletariat seizes power, it's important that the culture reflects their class interests as well.
A socialist society with a culture from a previous
system wouldn't last long, would it? It would abandon it's marxist premises sooner or later.
3️⃣ - What has to be done during a Cultural Revolution?
-Destroy bourgeois culture.
-Create movies, music, literature etc. that reflect the working class interests.
-Prevent rightist opportunists from getting into the party.
-Stop rightists from spreading their reactionary agenda.
