That vote will boil down to Trump vs democracy.

If the senator votes for democracy, Trump will make him/her unpopular with his base.

If the senator votes for Trump, his/her name will be tied to that treasonous action forever. 2/2
I should add that this really has no chance of working since Romney, Murkowski, Sasse, Collins and several others just won't do it.

But it would force GOP senators to take a stand. Or not. And their vote would count forever.
