I will admit first of all that my own experience with Palestinians in Jordan and the US has not been a good one. I have never met such hard, cut throat, and utterly deceitful, cruel and merciless people. I was once a great advocate of the Palestinian cause. 1/

Unfortunately after being in Jordan and witnessing the corruption, unemployment, and severe taxation that has trickled down to the gangs who extort money from shop owners, kidnap children and foreigners and the uncontrollable crime that takes place I no longer feel sorry for them

I once had my wallet stolen from my purse while it was on my arm in a mall in Amman. It has become a horrific place to say the least. Void of Islamic principles and human beings of good nature. A sad reality and undoubtedly a result of the establishment of the Israeli state 3/

and the occupation of Palestine. But.. the corruption is unfettered making the Wild West look like a cake walk.

I’m going to play devil’s advocate here because I think the normalization ties will come to benefit the common people of Palestine. How? Let’s alter our perspective 4

and look at the corruption in the Palestinian Territories due to the Israeli occupation and worse the oppressive Palestinian Authority. They receive millions of dollars from the Gulf states none of which get to the Palestinians who suffer and the PLA uses the 5/

suffering, and allows their suffering to maintain their victim status in order to continue to collect. The Gulf states decide to take matters in their own hands. They held many meetings with other Arab states and decided that by normalizing ties and engaging the Israelis 6/

in business, academia, and solidarity against Iran’s proxy wars in the Middle East they could wield more influence over the Israelis when it comes to the cause of the Palestinians. Instead of dumping millions of dollars with the PLA who have and continue to do nothing but get 7/

get rich, fat, and vacation in Europe, the Arabs and can now exercise some control. Both the Arabs and the Palestinians are well aware of PLA corruption and deceit. The initial ties with the UAE stopped Israel from annexing the West Bank. No Arab state has entered into the 8/

No Arab state has entered the normalization accords without demanding a two-state solution. This draws Israel away from America as the only broker and forces Israel to deal with the Arab countries as brokers too since their business and common threat of Iran will now be 9/

intertwined. They now can bypass the corruption of the PLA, hold them accountable and lessen American presence at the negotiation table. There is no other way to diplomatically bring an end to the occupation minus war of which the Arabs have lost 10/

and would probably lose again. The corruption of the PLA has brought us to this place as they’re not concerned with the affairs of the Palestinians. What is going on on the ground in Jordan is nothing short of mafia and drug gangs, people in refuge camps. High taxes and 11/

unemployment. The region has been sucked into a vacuum and there is no way out without everyone’s help. There’s no doubt how it all began but we’ve got to be smarter and more diplomatic if we are going to make changes for those who are suffering and move out of “victim mentality”

and into a situation that brings benefit to everyone including the Palestinians. Once all are prospering then Israel will fear the loss of these ties and will, In Sha Allah begin to worry about their actions against the Palestinians and the incompetent and impotent PLA 13/
