The simple reductio of this argument is that if unbridled succumbing to your desires changes your desires, which it does, then your desires do not represent your "truest" self, at least not in a stable sense. And once we admit of a dynamic self, the problem here becomes evident.
Is your truest self maximal submission to your desires? Even if you bite this bullet, it's a pretty repugnant conclusion. And if you agree that it isn't, you risk finding yourself on the side of the fuddy duddies who hold that maybe all the porn isn't so good for us.
This is really just a slice of the larger argument about homo economicus. Are we really our revealed preferences? How much of our "hypocrisy" do we want to strip away? Utilitarianism presumes an answer, but, as per above, the ultimate conclusion is pretty repugnant.
