Here is the only immediate-term path I can see to avert this oncoming train of a democratic breakdown... 1/
Senate and House Republicans who are rightly horrified by their colleagues’ support for the Texas lawsuit immediately leave the Republican Party and form a new Conservative Party. 2/
The new Conservative Party works out a power-sharing agreement with Democrats in the House and Senate, and thus forms a pro-democracy majority coalition, recognizing that the continuation of our democracy is the most important issue. 3/
The coalition works out a reasonable deal for COVID relief, and most importantly, passes electoral reforms (ranked-choice voting, and multi-member districts for the House, with a larger House) that will allow new Conservative Party members to get re-elected. 4/
The pro-democracy majority coalition agrees to continue to govern together, support further reforms to ensure free and fair elections, keep the anti-system fascists out of power, thus preserving American democracy for another generation. /END
