I got flack once for saying that one of the most disturbing things about Trump's Access Hollywood tape, in addition to the terrible things he was saying about women, was the mere fact that a 59-year-old man was bragging to a 34-year-old man. But this is relevant again now.

You listen and it's very important to Trump for this much younger man to be impressed by Trump. Trump doesn't just hint that he gets away with assaulting women. He goes into detail.

It's disgusting on every level. But now, look at Trump's situation. Nobody with sufficient authority is taking his grievances seriously. Barr isn't. The Supreme Court isn't. He's been disgraced even by the people he thought owed him favors.

Trump has endless numbers of depraved devotees. They aren't on the Supreme Court, and they don't run government agencies, but they are tough, in Trump's eyes, and they love him. He speaks proudly of "bikers" and "Second Amendment people."

Trump is addicted to praise and support and now that his legal options are exhausted, he's going to turn to the "bikers" because that's the only place he can get his fix.

Trump will make promises to them with no strategic or tactical plan because when he promises things to them, they give him his sugar rush of praise and admiration.
He's going to start making bigger mistakes. Serious ones.

As bad as he's been, he has room to get worse and he'll do it just because he has no moves in his playbook to be reasonable. If thuggish MAGA with guns say they'll fight for him, he won't be able to say "no" and lose their approval. And that's our danger now.
