Ever wonder why physicians aren’t entitled to rest periods, or even eating periods? Well it’s explicitly written into our legislature. Ask yourself, does this make sense? @LwamG @ResidentDoctors From the Ontario government website re: employment standards act exemptions
More exemptions based on professions here:

This is dystopian and points to how our structure of labour is based more on capital and less on the protection of the ones doing the work. So glad there are people advocating in this space.. @elsaasce

more members of the general public need to grow collective consciousness into how backwards this is. Here are the exemptions to agricultural workers
From a physician standpoint it makes no sense to me. Physicians yes are independent workers but in 2020 many doctors who work in hospitals are working the same shifts as their colleagues, abiding by the same hospital policies drawn up for their colleagues in other professions.
Sure, attending doctors are highly paid with great mobility. What about residents! Residents have a union, I’m surprised at how fundamentally backwards it is for an employee to be working FOR an organization, be on salary and still be denied the right to have breaks or meals
