Ya know if TikTok has taught us anything its that letting people use & share music in their content is how artist blow up super fast. Twitch & youtube has robust content ID systems so why not just have a corner widget pop up on folks content......
.....that redirects you to a site where that song can be purchased or streamed at high quality? Or a site of the copyright holders choice? Why mute stuff or keep the song ID credits in the description where no body looks? Like just let influencers influence lol
like I can guarantee you most people aren't listening to some creators background music as a substitute for the real deal. Artist bend over backwards for their songs to go viral on tiktok cause no publicity is bad publicity so like....? Record companies dumb....?
this idea can also be applied to film & TV footage too
These ID systems could easily help redirect traffic to places where the copyright holders actually get money instead of leeching on some youtubers ad revenue

need I remind these companies that there was a Fleetwood Mac popularity surge & a fucking ocean spray cranberry shortage after 1 tiktok. But nah keep dumping millions into stealing peoples ad revenue & striking content im sure that will keep working out just fine
moral of the story is copyright laws need to be updated & lobbyist need to get lost for everyone's benefit
