As cathartic as it is to see Trumps quixotic attempt to overturn his election loss fail over and over again, I think it’s worth considering how a mere 0.5% point uniform swing from Biden to Trump could’ve produced a true catastrophe.

In this scenario, Trump wins GA, AZ, and WI, leaving Biden’s victory dependent on 0.2% point lead in PA alone, or about 14,000 votes.

Of course Trump was never going to accept a loss. Had it been a blow out he would have pointed to that margin as evidence of fraud. But had it been even a little bit closer, hinging on only a small margin in a single state, we know full well the GOP would line up behind his coup.
