Gloria Richardson is as as deserving of your time and attention and consideration as Lewis or anyone else. Bear in mind her perspective and her example or end up learning everything she’s taught us the hard way.
There’s a persistent pattern in how white (and some Black) liberals will worship the imagery of Black women being courageous in the face of white supremacist oppression but reduce them to flat icons with no dimension, no spirit, no thoughts and beliefs and agency.
Millions of liberals on this site who’ve tweeted and gushed over this photo of Ieshia Evans. How many know her name? How many know what she believes or thinks of our politics?
