the liberal response is like "haha dude you lost" because they cannot fathom anything outside of the narrow political sphere they're accustomed to. trump's loyalist and violently unhinged base isn't going anywhere nor are the establishment republicans who've aided & abetted him.
A lesson from Hungary: Viktor Orban (Fidesz) came to power in '98 and formed a center-right govt. Lost power in '02 (elections swung to the socialists) & won again in '10, after creating a Far Right grassroots network with him at the head. He declared he'll be in power for 20 yrs
