To protect his safety, the UK government is reported to have struck a deal with Washington to accept Bary back into Britain upon his release from prison, to avoid a human rights breach.

Remarkably, despite the case against him for terrorism offences, an Early Day Motion was tabled in Parliament to prevent his extradition.

In fact, Bary pleaded guilty to his involvement in the 1988 US Embassy bombings in Kenya Tanzania, in which 224 innocent people were massacred.
