Suicidal people post about their dimise and threat/attempt to commit suicide for quite a few reasons.
Now, lets make a short thread to butress these reasons. https://twitter.com/currentiyke/status/1337703571689775111

- TO SIMPLY BE HEARD.
When a post is made, 2 things are bound to happen;
1. The thought gets suppressed.
or
2. The thought gets escalated.
Not everyone who posts about suicide ends up commiting it and this is partly because of the reactions they got from social media.

If they get LOVE AND AFFECTION (within a specific time frame) from people, friends/strangers on their social media space, they most likely are going to abort mission.
If most of the comments they get are snarky or not friendly, moreso, jokes and attacks on and about their mental health, that definitely escalates the issue and they just go on with the thought and end up commiting.
Posting about suicide for some is a cry for help, they are ready to die but they aren't happy about it
The irony is, there's a puny hope in suicidal people, it's so tiny that they can't even admit that it's there and thats what makes them cry for help in their last moments

Another reason is some just want to be sure their last note is seen and nothing can stop them from going on with their thoughts.
Suicidal people seek attention but not for vain purposes.
The next time you see a suicidal tweet, be patient and gentle with your reaction.

Know that suicide is an option (for them), do not tell them it isn't.
Rather, show them why it isn't an option that's good enough, with love and respect.
Your words might be the saving grace they need.
