Nupi Lan #WomensWar Movement & Meira Paibi movements inspired many in our region to come together to fight for our much needed peace & justice. #Indigenous women of Manipur & Northeast are strength of our society #NupiLanDay is this also our #HumanRightsDay

We,the younger generation of indigenous women of Manipur & NE have continued important struggle led by women of Manipur in 1904.Our women’s movement that started then with 1st Nupi Lan Movement is a 116 year old women’s movement rare in history of the world @UN_Women @NobelWomen
At recently concluded historic Third Northeast Indigenous Women Peace Congregation held 21 Nov 2020 online,we have recognized historic feat of #NupiLan Movement & have called for inclusion women in ALL peace processes & Truth & Reconciliation Commission @unwomenindia @nheptulla
Till today imp history of women’s movement as Manipur’s #NupiLan Movement is #EXCLUDED from historical narrative of #Indian nation state.The history of 45 million indigenous peoples of NE is excluded even after 72 years. Let this sink in @nheptulla @DrJitendraSingh @KirenRijiju
