A few short thoughts about female veterans, the VA and veteran service organizations. I wrote the first story about Andrea Goldstein and her ordeal at the DC VA. At the time, I heard very little from any organizations that serve vets (1/3) https://www.nytimes.com/2019/09/26/us/politics/women-veterans-sexual-assault-harassment.html
In the ensuing weeks I and many others wrote stories about this case, including evidence of the involvement of Wilkie and possibly @DanCrenshawTX and again: no outcry https://www.propublica.org/article/vva-secretary-looked-for-dirt-on-a-house-staffer-who-reported-sexual-assault-in-a-va-hospital-complaint-says (⅔)
Women are the fastest growing group of veterans. They often endure harassment & worse while serving, get harassed at VA centers here & and often can't find a home in traditional veteran's orgs. This is a big issue for the next Sec Va to deal with. 3/3 https://www.nytimes.com/2019/03/12/us/politics/women-veterans-harassment.html?action=click&module=RelatedCoverage&pgtype=Article®ion=Footer
